Internal compiler error when building empty crate

I initially saw this when building unicode-xid however, I have been able to reproduce it building a newly created, empty crate.

Steps to reproduce

> cargo new --lib ice-test
     Created library `ice-test` package
> cd ice-test
> cargo +nightly build
