As a developer, documentation is sparse.

It would be good to have

how to get set up and run the application for this code base. (step by step, detailed instructions)
a development process defined - explaining tests are needed, coding should be done on a feature branch before a pull request is set up, tests should pass, etc.
highlight any dependencies on specific libraries + reasons/motivations for why we aren't moving away from a specific library. etc.
