Ibus rime uses the last checked layout through Show Keyboard Layout option on GNOME #175

Environment

  • ArchLinux GNOME
  • ibus-rime (with luna-pinyin-simp), ibus-anthy
  • set three locales: en_US.UTF-8, zh_CN.UTF-8 and ja_JP.UTF-8

Reproduce steps

  1. set up environment

  2. set up corresponding keyboard in GNOME settings center, respectively:

  3. check Rime keyboard layout through GNOME settings center, finding it's empty:

5. check layout through GNOME input method status panel, then anthy keyboard will pop up.
6. switch to en keyboard, check en keyboard layout then switch back to Rime, now checking rime layout will pops en layout up.

My Conclusion

  • Show Keyboard Layout under ArchLinux GNOME ibus-rime will fall back to last checked keyboard layout on my machine;
  • The rime input will be affected by such fallback, in my case, en layout and jp layout is different, which are listed as below:
