There's plenty of room... let's just have the points of the conditions scatterplot labelled by default: Hover shouldn't be required.

Here are the docs that made me think it might work: https://plot.ly/python/text-and-annotations/ ... but the scattergl is not quite at feature parity. In particular: plotly/plotly.js#130 (comment) :
scatter mode: 'text' (for text charts) is not available
(And, fwiw, annotations are something different, but since they go in the layout, I feel like that might get confused.)

Oh, but we don't need to use gl for the conditions plot!: We're dealing with a much smaller number.
