Please upvote the Full text search feature here: https://feedback.mongodb.com/forums/923521-realm. |
Hey All, Product for Realm here, we are interested in doing some user research on full-text search for the Realm SDK. If you could help us answer some questions then we can look to add this to the product roadmap. If you could please email me at [email protected] we can set up a time to quickly chat - this would be greatly appreciated. |
@ianpward still in feedback-gathering mode? I have fulltext search needs for a language-learning app / e-reader |

Any ETA? |
We don't have an ETA for this feature yet. |

Frustrating. That blog post from a year ago said FTS would be arriving "soon" in the Swift SDK and nobody from Realm (or I guess it's now "MongoDB App Word Salad Services") can even provide an ETA a year later. |
Any news? Our project heavily depends on a fast, client side FTS functionality. Could you at least give us a new ETA? |
There's no update and their prior comms about timeline were mistaken. I've moved to SQLite via GRDB for FTS needs. I'm not holding out anymore for client side improvement as the focus of releases has shifted to Atlas Sync integration for a long while (which I don't use, so I'm not their target audience user). |
Any updates? Been looking forward to this. |
@irrabevz ha, there are definitely updates. Realm got nuked from orbit and MongoDB has stopped development of the entire thing. It'll live on as open source (minus the syncing engine that made Realm worth using at all). But since it has no paid developers at this point, the chances of any feature landing in the future is close to zero. Your best bet is to get off of Realm. |
