Native macOS Support

Hi all, I was just wondering whether there are any plans for native macOS support? At the moment I assume the recommendation is to use Mac Catalyst?

For context, I am a long time C++ and macOS (amongst other things) developer trying my hand at React Native for the first time. As a result, I'm still finding my feet in the recommended packages and ways to do things in this world. This appears to be the most popular package for file picking but perhaps somebody could point me elsewhere if what I'm asking for already exists! If not I could be tempted to try implementing support myself.
