Thanks for the suggestion @gengjiawen. q2studio is a prototype interface --- distribution considerations are still quite a ways out, so we probably won't look into this for a while. In the meantime, our official recommendation for getting set up with q2studio is to install the QIIME 2 VirtualBox image, the Studio is pre-loaded there. Thanks!

PS - docker isn't known for being the most straightforward way for distributing GUI tools --- end users need to know things about X11 sockets, etc. Maybe a cleaner approach would be to distribute built binaries/bundles? At least for a first-pass, that is.

I am little confused why electron is introduced, open the url in chrome has some shortcomings ?

I mean we are using react, we can just run it in browser, not necessarily in electron.
