TL;DR: This is short-term fixed as part of the 3.0 release
The alien sprite wasn't from the pack I thought it was. There was an older one that was later redone, so I found the old one and re-used one of its frames to fill in the gap. It isn't in the animated characters folder because it's a different size than the "normal" animated characters.
TL;DR: The blue alien below's in a different folder with no fall state, larger textures, and fewer walk frames, but we can fix it
