Prior to this commit metaparameters were not preserved during the initial canonicalization of a resource. This commit ensures that canonicalization preserves any metaparameters that may be present in a given resource.
This commit adds a spec test to demomstrate that a metaparameter will be preserved through the canonicalization of a resource.
