It looks like AWS added Client VPN support in December 2018. How to add remote access was originally discussed earlier that year with @lukehoban suggesting that "AWS does not offer any first class solution". Perhaps it's time to reconsider this as a remote access solution now that AWS has first class support?

There was also a thread on a Slack a couple of weeks ago asking for this.
