When inputting tied notes in Powertab Editor 1.7 you have to enter the first note then select the value of the second note before entering the second note and then tie them together. In GP you input the first note, select the value of the second note and then tie them together which is much less time consuming.

I'm not sure if I quite understand what you're suggesting. Do you mean that pressing "Y" at an empty position will create a new note that is tied to the previous note?

Sorry - it's my poor powers of explanation!

If I want to input a not tied to another in GP, the way I do it is by entering the first note, toggling the cursor to the next empty position using the right arrow key then mouse clicking the tie icon on the notation toolbar. Alternatively you can enter the first note, toggle the cursor to the next empty position using the right arrow key then press the shortcut key of "L" to tie the note.

In PT you have to enter the first note, toggle to the empty position, enter the second note (which you don't have to do on GP) and then click on the "tie note" icon on the notes toolbar which, if you are entering lots of tied notes is pretty time consuming.
