Hi
Thanks for the good documentation on the SPIKE simulator.
I understand that it is a functional simulator, hence the cycle accuracy is not guaranteed.
However, I have following questions:

  1. The simulator is functionally simulating the RISCV + Vector Processor execution, which means that the dependencies between instructions are correctly handled. Actual cycles for vector part of processing depends on the hardware, so it is not being simulated.
However, for applications using vector processor, is there a way still to at least manually calculate the cycles using the cycles information obtained in the SPIKE simulator? If yes, it will be more useful beyond functional simulation.
    Thank you
    arun
