Why generate an inventory number in a template?

I create a computer template and write an inventory number template (<\y -####>).

When I open this template for editing, I see the inventory number in the TEMPLATE. I can't see my template mask. I see the finished number in the template. This is wrong.

The inventory number template mask should remain the same as it was entered by me.

In the sequel. After setting up the computer template, I can't edit the inventory number template. I have to disable the "gen inventory number" plugin. Or I get an error.
