Can't npm install pre-reqs #85

I have tried on several systems to install pre-reqs for building the website, but always end up with:

~/website$ npm install
npm ERR! code ETARGET
npm ERR! notarget No matching version found for [email protected].
npm ERR! notarget In most cases you or one of your dependencies are requesting
npm ERR! notarget a package version that doesn't exist.

Have tried on macOS, Ubuntu 18, 20, 22, debian, win11, but have no way of building the website to test an article.

1618 verbose Linux 5.15.146.1-microsoft-standard-WSL2
1619 verbose node v21.7.1
1620 verbose npm  v10.5.0
