User Guide
Follow the steps below for an outline of how to perform a migration using the Migration Assistant.
The Migration Assistant controls, monitors, processes and verifies a migration. This process requires infrastructure that can be removed after a migration has completed. See the following options for deployment./
- AWS Solutions deployment [Recommended]
- Manual CDK deployment
With the infrastructure deploy there are two paths for migration to the new cluster, existing and live data migration.
To control the migration process a console environment is deployed with the Migration Assistant. Through the command line interface the migration process is controlled.
Existing data requires selecting the data to be migrated from the source and applying it on the target, see detailed steps below.
Live data migration requires adjustment to the network traffic configuration to the source cluster. After the capture proxy is collecting data the live migrate can start replaying the traffic against the new cluster.
