Is this App no longer Open Source? There is still a GPL license file in the project root directory, but the source code is gone.

I have been using TrekMe for many years. Today I wanted to install it on a new phone, but I can't download a reasonably sized map any more (with more than 3000 tiles) without having to pay the subscription.

I would gladly pay a small amount to support the project, but not on a monthly or yearly subscription base.

Making the source open wasn't worth it even though some of my other projects have definitely benefited from being open source. Lately it started to be challenging to keep the source open while continuing to add premium features. Any person with basic development skills could easily get the app for free.
On the other hand, I understand that you're not interested in subscriptions. I should add the ability to make a one time purchase for a few maps, or something similar.
Regarding the GPL license, you're right. It's not relevant anymore. However the GPL license still applies for existing forks or any other copies of the code.
