Describe the idea

OsmAnd is a professional mapping software, and you can also add some professional features that can be provided to a user without professional GIS skills.

Example:
Image
An example of an object on the OSM map: "Lake Плещеево".

The OSM maps themselves do not provide information about the area and perimeter (length of the boundary extension) of the object. And this data can be very interesting to the user, neither OsmAnd nor any other software provides such information. Data can only be obtained in professional GIS, and this requires skills that not everyone has.

Expected behaviour

I would like to not use professional GIS software, but to receive information about objects in OsmAnd, the "details" tab.

Alternatives you've considered

Justification for the feature request.

  1. OSM maps - vector data and get (calculate any object with boundaries will not cause difficulties).
  2. The area of the object and its perimeter (length of the boundary extension) are data that may be of interest to users, especially professionals in the GIS field.
  3. The area of an object and its perimeter (length of the boundary extension) to obtain data is a non-trivial task (Even chatGPT is unable to provide accurate data on objects in OSM.), so competitors of maps in mobile applications do not have this function, until I offer it to them too ;). Bypass your competitors by adding the mentioned functionality.
