I didn't know SSO, so I'll take a look.
A quick search led me to this package https://github.com/jasny/sso that seems to be a more independent package.
The Single Sign-On (SSO) server and client is a complete SSO system in a single, self-contained package and does NOT require Barebones CMS to function.
Barebones SSO is a completely isolated package. There are no dependencies on Barebones CMS for it to function. The separation of interests statement is in the introduction to the product.

Although I am not sure that this can be implemented.
I use Barebones SSO for most of my projects. So it would be nice if I can implement this with middleware.
