Trouble starting regolith over xrdp

I'm trying to use regolith over xrdp but the session closes immediately after starting.

Regolith works fine locally on that machine and using the default gnome desktop over xrdp also works.

I've seen #200 and I've tried using regolith-session in my ~/.xsession file but without any success.

Does anyone know how to get this working?
