2025 first board meeting items

• Two new people reached out to work on GenevaERS. One contributor is from the US, the other lives in India. Neither have prior experience as contributors, but have been learning and contributing. They don't have mainframe experience yet but want to gain mainframe skills.
  • The front-end for GenevaERS is architected for Windows. One of the new contributors has a Mac which has been a driver for improving support for Mac.
• GenevaERS is progressing through the OpenSSF silver and gold badge items. A number of items are complete but not linked or polished enough to mark complete
• The project has worked diligently on fixing vulnerabilities found in code dependencies. The project does not have any critical or high vulnerabilities.
• The project continues work on an enhancement that originated as a research and development proof of concept. When the GenevaERS process is running and processing data on the mainframe, this is referred to as the Performance Engine. The GenevaERS Performance Engine; via a mainframe language such as COBOL or Assembler can make a call to java, process and return data to the Performance Engine. In addition, an API can be used to call java via traditional mainframe languages and modern languages.
  • This enhancement to call java during execution of the Performance Engine will be installed on a third party mainframe. This will allow the project to package the code and make available in GitHub.
• The process to build the Performance Engine for installation on the mainframe has been completed. All code is now open source and available in GitHub. The new build process has been tested on a third party mainframe.
