... it's definitely a Firefly III issue, not me

Description

I am trying to install Firefly on Ubuntu using Docker. After following the instructions on the website, the installation seems to be in a loop trying to initialize the database and is not progressing.

I have cross-checked the passwords and API KEYS multiple times, and every time, I pruned the docker system and manually removed the existing volumes.

Setting permissions for the firefly user in Mariadb might help. (https://www.reddit.com/r/docker/comments/xe37gg/comment/k113c0d/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

I could not try it because the docker container keeps restarting.

I then tried stopping the fiorefly_iii_core container and tried logging into the database as root, but then I came across this error.

I tried putting the mariadb environment variables here to clear the case that docker compose has trouble reading .db.env. I changed the port number since port number 80 was already occupied.

I am using Docker version 27.3.1 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS running on a Digitalocean Droplet VPS.

I used this configuration to try and install on WSL on my laptop. The installation seemed successful, and I could access the login page. I used Docker 27.4.1 on Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS.

I will try reinstalling Docker on my VPS and try again.

I installed it successfully on a fresh installation of Debian and Caddy. I suppose the incompatibility between UFW and Docker caused the issue, though it was not verified.
