TL;DR, implement this type of feature for Github issues:
Previous, less thorough discussions (I had to manually search for these, my initial search didn't reveal any duplicates, good case in point of the need of this feature). The lack of text might hamper findability through search (site-search and global search engines like Google):

Currently, searching for related issues on GitHub is a cumbersome process due to several limitations:
These limitations lead to significant inefficiencies:
a) Issue reporters waste time manually searching for related issues and/or may inadvertently create unnecessary duplicates.
b) Repository maintainers spend valuable time manually finding and triaging duplicate issues, especially challenging in large repositories with numerous open issues.
These inefficiencies highlight the need for an improved, automated system for suggesting related issues.
Feature idea
Implement an autosuggest feature for related issues when users are creating or editing an issue on GitHub. This functionality would work similarly to GitLab's and Stack Overflow's suggestion systems.
