Kernal Panic - 2.1.x arm64 #798
Comments
OK if it panics right away, I'd better remove the installer for now. Dang, no ZFS load address in that one |
I just had what appears to be basically the same panic (my machine is an Mac Studio M1 Ultra with 128GB RAM):
|
@dmzimmerman Not sure if this helps, but once I increased the stack size in bootargs, my system is quite stable even under heavy I/O operations. |
I did do that; it hasn't seemed to help, though it is of course possible that I have panics being caused by more than one thing. |
There's a new ARM version for testing up here @prankymat. I'm away from my server and won't have the opportunity to test it for a little while. |
OK that might only install on ventura? I'll do a proper BS build to test |
hey @jawbroken and @lundman thanks so much for the update! Indeed I'm not able to install on Monterey with this latest version. Look forward to the next build though. Thanks so much once again! |
Downloaded latest arm version (OpenZFSonOsX-2.1.99-Monterey-12-arm64.pkg), from https://openzfsonosx.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3677. After installation, I tried several commands. All I got was: dhcpclient5:samples localadmin (master) % zfs list Seems there is something fishy in the required libraries during installation. |
Wow, I uploaded that version, then rebooted, discovered the libs were not relinked, removed the post, and worked on fixing it. The version that is up there now as the libs fixed. You managed to download it in the 5 mins the wrong version was up. |
after creating a symlink to /opt/local, I got the same error as @johanhenselmans's. |
Hmm let me double check
That's ok, installed from: 19354114 Sep 8 20:09 Forum download has well, bravo lundman, that the old file. One sec |
OK uploaded correct version, downloaded it again, confirmed MD5. |
I'm closing this issue now, thanks for the support @lundman! |
Superb, ok, so Monterey M1Max is also OK, noted. |
Following the discussions on #797, I've installed the pkg for version 2.1.x on my M1 Max Studio running Monterey.
Upon installing and rebooting, the computer panicked after a moment after logging in without me doing anything.
Below are some reports that I'm able to capture, please let me know if there's anything else I could provide. Thanks again for everything!
