It would be great if the tint_demo notebook took its plotting domain from the data file or information about the radar site, rather than having to be hand-coded for a different radar site. Thanks!

Yes, seems like that could be built in.
I think that some of my problems, though, seem to be that the earlier data is formatted differently. I’m looking at kbox for 12/24/1999 and the lat/lon for the site doesn’t seem to be read in correctly and the data doesn’t seem to plot correctly for the default map projections.
