I know @trivikr for long time, as the maintainer of the aws-sdk package in AWS, and a participant in the otel repo in the past. would love for you to take ownership, help maintain and improve the instrumentation, and perhaps, consider embedding it in the aws-sdk package itself (using the @opentelemetry/api to start and end spans) which has few major benefits.

I support you becoming a component owner for the instrumentation. Please open a PR for that, and feel free to reach out for any OpenTelemetry related issues that you might want to discuss.

Thank you, @blumamir, for developing and maintaining existing community supported OpenTelemetry Instrumentation for AWS SDK for JavaScript. It's immensely helpful for AWS customers.

I've created a PR to be added as component owner at #2557
