I installed whisper-overlay and as soon as I start the overlay I get the following message. It's also not responding to any key.

(whisper-overlay:103114): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 13:39:06.830: gtk_widget_map: assertion '_gtk_widget_get_visible (widget)' failed

Any idea what is going wrong? Is there a debug output?

What platform/desktop environment are you running on? The Gtk-CRITICAL messages are sometimes a bit random, it might not be related to why it isn't working for you.
