To avoid privacy issues, dead links, and improve page load speed (downloading from 1 domain instead of 700 ^^')

Notes:

keep a local index of download favicons to avoid downloading the same icon many times (eg. I have 700 GitHub bookmarks); maybe just saving the files with a hash as the filename and checking before downloading
do we check for each page for the favicon, do we keep one per domain?
