@vhyrro Just out of curiosity, will neorg (norg) officially support BSD systems from now on? Or is this change considered just a workaround, and keep BSD support as a non strict requirement?

Thanks for the PR! @pysan3 I believe Neovim also natively supports BSD. I don't think there's a single part of the Neorg codebase which has system-dependent behaviour apart from maybe get_username(), so I'm fine with starting to support BSD too :)
