A simple, unified interface for plugging club events and meetings at The College of New Jersey.
Clubs on campus often have common interests, overlapping memberships, and poor intra-club communication skills. This is evident in the low event and meeting attendance suffered by some clubs. Clubs are also forced to use outdated web tools to manage their membership, email lists, and events. Wouldn't it be great if there was a common portal to browse and manage all this data.
It would have to have a clean and intuitive interface, site contents would have to be logically organized and easily accessible, and it would have to provide a genuinely new service. Here's hoping this accomplishes all of the above!
- Genre Tags - Similar clubs get similar plugs. If you know your interests, you can find the club and/or direct your messages.
- Smart Plug - Plugging an event is easy. Write a message, select which tags are relevant, and Plug plugs your message with every club matching your criteria.
- Smart Search - Using these same tags, search for clubs on campus that match your interests.
- Points, points, points,... - Every time a club posts, hosts an event, gains a member, or plugs someone else's event, your club gains reputation. If your club is an effective communicator, the rest of campus will know! Gain reputation and gain exposure.
- Mailing Lists - The TCNJ MailMan is effective, but the UI is archaic. Easy mailing list management for all clubs.
- Omi-Social Approach - Your events and information synchronize with your preferred social networks (Facebook or Google+). Have a twitter handle? Your tweets, facebook posts, and google posts are synchronized as per your requests.
