The upcoming WordPress 5.5 release replaces all instances of the term “blacklist” to the more inclusive “blocklist”. This includes changing of blacklist_keys to blocklist_keys.

Accordingly, I will be changing the name of my Comment Blacklist for WordPress project to the more inclusive “Comment Blocklist for WordPress” and renaming the repo. Fortunately, it appears that links to the old repo URLs will automatically redirect to the new paths. Documentation and related screenshots will also need to be updated.

The name of the option has changed in the final version of WordPress 5.5 to disallowed_keys.
