Using virtual slides on Swiper Element with Vue

Hi, I'm having trouble with getting virtual slides to work, specially using the implementation shown under
"Since version 9, Swiper virtual slides can work with slides originally rendered in DOM."
within the docs.

No matter what I do, adding virtual="true" just has no effect.

I did initially test this with slides that were dependent on a fetch completing to render their content, but have since tried this with normally defined slides like in the docs, but still no luck.
