I'll have to miss this, but there's been a pretty cool new 2FA thing open sourced this week: https://opensource.googleblog.com/2020/01/wombat-dressing-room-npm-publication_10.html

I'll update #282 to include it at some point.

also, i'll only be in the first 30 minutes of this meeting

It requires you run your own service, though - my understanding of npm's plans are a feature that wouldn't require that.
