[Bug]: No updates are offered in the client #5639

Bug description

Before version 3.6.4, I used an older version, but didn't get an update notification. Now, the same happened again. I still don't get an available update displayed.

Thought, I opened an issue when I had the problem back then, but apparently not. Might also be a duplicate, but didn't find things on a quick search.

This is still happening for me. Is this maybe wanted, because of an old connected server version (just speculation, not sure how old the servers are).

This just worked for me with the latest update (3.9.1). Possibly, there was a fix, or something else changed that it finally worked. I don't know.

@allexzander @mgallien or any other dev, could I please get some reaction to this?
