NetBox version

v3.7.3

Feature type

New functionality

Proposed functionality

It is currently possible to map two interfaces into a peer to peer tunnel (via /vpn/tunnels/). When you setup such a tunnel between a Device and a Virtual Machine, you can go to the Device definition's Interface tab and see the Tunnel on the right-side button listing (a red tunnel icon). If you go to the Virtual Machine's Interface tab, you do not see such a button. Furthermore, there are no green tunnel icons like there are on the Device Interface tab.

Use case

  1. Make the UI between Virtual Machine Interfaces and Device Interfaces be at parity.
  2. Simplify the adding of a Tunnel when looking at a Virtual Machine (rather than needing to go to the Tunnel page and define both sides)

Database changes

No changes needed, UI change only.

External dependencies

None.
