File picker issue when opening jar directly

Filing as separate issue so it doesn't get lost. For 3.0-rc.2.

On Monterey 12.6.1 Intel, re-opening an existing assignment, the file picker can't see inside my ~/Documents folder when I double click the jar file, but can when tool is invoked from the command line.

Just to add, it does work if I then drag the required file onto the picker window.

Funny stuff going on here. You can see the Documents folder, and navigate into it, but there are no files showing when you're in there?

I'm making some changes to how file-choosing works soon, so I might see what's happening.
