llamafile is a "web GUI chatbot, a turnkey OpenAI API compatible server, and a shell-scriptable CLI interface". The latest llamafile release

introduces whisperfile which is a single-file implementation of OpenAI's Whisper model. It lets you transcribe speech
to text and even translate it too. Our implementation is based off Georgi Gerganov's whisper.cpp project.

By the way based on the discussion in Archive DeepSpeech repo #3693 i assume that not much is happening in this repo since december 2021

Oh okay, Whisper is like their DeepSpeech 2.0., they gave given up developping the core funcitonality but work making leader implementation widely available (free, offline, open code, localhost...)

They should have stated something but ig Mozilla being a corporation they don't care that much about product continuity and have other priorites

I was seeing that project as something from the future as it was already somehting from the past shortly after if came out
