Just a though: the simple arc-chord ratio of a path would work for this, but that may not be as informative in 3D as in 2D? @carshadi, thoughts? Should this wait for your N, Mean, SD, refactoring? |
If I recall, the reason we didn't include Tortuosity is because we couldn't settle on the definition, as it is not as standardized as L-measure contraction. If using the arc-chord ratio, that would just be the inverse of Contraction. |
I remember now. For 2D the arc-chord ratio seems to be the most common metric. The only issue is in 3D where the radio may be too simplistic? We can leave this open, to gather feedback from folks on what is the best measure to be adopted. |
