When performing some maintenance tasks it is common to take the mongo server down and bring it back up. Currently, we have to restart our process for the connection to be reestablished. It would be nice if the library would give the option of auto-reconnecting.

I definitely saw this also and I wrote some code to re-connect. But it might be better to rely on the connection pool level to solve this.
