Description

From time to time I don't really understand some group chats and I always think I am missing something. Today I opened up my laptop where Mirage was running over night (probably for weeks, I don't reboot often) and saw the video in this issue with messages that were missing in my chat. Then I logged in to Element Web and saw the missing messages there.

I also have logs (from a self created systemd service) but they are too long for pastebin. The real logs start at Aug 22 14:56:56 but here are the last 50 lines: https://pastebin.com/KYWaRvKg Doesn't seem to be helpful?

After a systemctl --user restart mirage the messages got loaded. The logs: https://pastebin.com/CqySvE5E

Your environment

  • OS or distribution: Arch Linux
  • Architecture: x86 64bit
  • For Linux users: your desktop environment or window manager: i3-gaps 4.19.1-1
  • How did you install Mirage? AUR -> matrix-mirage 0.7.2-1
  • For manual installations: your Qt version: qt5-base 5.15.2+kde+r223-1
  • For manual installations: your Python version: Python 3.9.7

Steps to reproduce

  1. Look at chat and wonder about missing messages

Expected behavior

The messages should be there...

Actual behavior

Messages are missing

I confirm the issue, here it happens randomly, and I keep mirage always open.

This seems like one of those things that will be nearly impossible to debug until someone figures out a reliable way to reproduce the issue
