it wouldn't run at all after clicking play. i'm on the latest update of catalina as of 09/20.

If it crashes it freezes sometimes.
Please check if the latest update of the Launcher work for you.
Please tell me if it still won't respond every time starting the game, if you don't update 1.14 - 1.16.10 are the only compatible versions

There is currently no new stable update, 1.16.10 is the last working version.
