Good day I would like to use the ingenious tool LossLessCut to cut videos and convert them from .mov to .mp4 and import them into Lightroom.
This should also convert the file from H.265 to H.264 and keep the metadata. The conversion to .mp4 worked and the metadata was taken from the original file.
Unfortunately, importing to Lightroom did not work. I suspect it is because of the H.265 encoding. Is there any way to change this without losing the metadata (especially shooting date & coordinates)?
Hi.
AFAIK MOV and MP4 are almost the same formats so I don't know why lightroom doesn't support MOV.
You may have to try to toggle "Preserve all MP4/MOV metadata? YES/NO" - Other than that I don't think there's much I can do because ffmpeg is doing the transfer of metadata, not losslesscut. So maybe in future versions it will include more metadata.
On the other hand if you are talking about converting H.265 to H.264, that is unfortunately not possible to do without losing quality, so it's probably not something losslesscut will ever support.

Converting with HandBrake unfortunately results in metadata loss.

Thank you very much and best regards
