I've hit a similar issue - wanting to retain The workaround I've found is to simply not use the 'plugin' model at all and invoke both operations independently.
I'm not sure if there is a way to do this with the plugin as it stands today. |

I have the same issue, not sure if we have new way to do it inside Memory Plugin for example: {{memory.ask memory.citation or memory.source}}, then we don't need separate calls |

The default plugin returns only the answer text. For the text to include the references, you can implement a custom plugin, changing this code: kernel-memory/clients/dotnet/SemanticKernelPlugin/MemoryPlugin.cs Lines 404 to 410 in 81f59ab to include in the result also |

Could you provide sample how to use Semantic Kernel plugin to answer question in a way that also provide reference to reference document? Something similar what is availably already while using Azure Open AI with own data.
