Microsoft PowerToys version

0.64.0

Installation method

PowerToys auto-update

Running as admin

Yes

Area(s) with issue?

FancyZones

Steps to reproduce

  1. Boot/Login to Windows (ensuring that PowerToys is loaded)
  2. Attempt to shift+drag a window into my normal spot.
  3. See gaps between the windows in the preview
  4. See those gaps maintained when I release the mouse.
  5. Open PowerToys settings.
  6. Open FancyZones.
  7. Launch the Layout Editor
  8. Select any layout.
  9. Ensure that 'space around zones' is disabled (see screencap below)
  10. Save the layout.
  11. Attempt to shift-drag windows around.
  12. Space is still placed between windows.

✔️ Expected Behavior

Windows should touch each other after being arranged, with no space between them showing while dragging

❌ Actual Behavior

Windows do not touch, and space is shown while dragging.

Workaround

Looks like FZ is simply not respecting the toggle on "space between windows", and is using whatever number is specified in the amount, even when disabled. Workaround is to enable the setting, then (painfully) adjust the slider so that it is 0 (can use the arrow keys once selected, thank God), then disable the setting again. But you have to do it for each layout.

Dang, and I thought I had searched better than that. OK, I will close as a dupe. Thanks!
