whole CMS is reloaded when adding a new child page #14

When clicking the button to add a new child page the whole CMS is reloaded instead of just loading the data-pjax-fragment Content or CurrentForm.
Why is that and is there a way to resolve this?

I'm trying to remember as this was done a long time ago. I believe the reason was because I couldn't customise it specifically where I needed to. I did spend quite a lot of time trying to get this working though.

I think the main issue was that there's a difference between the javascript that handles GridFieldDetailForm response and the normal SiteTree view response, as well as a few layout issues.

It may be something like this hard-coded in which was preventing it working but i'm really wouldn't be sure without re-trying to implement it.

I see. I once tried to build a SiteTreeModelAdmin kind of thing to declutter the site tree and I got stuck on similar issues. I'm with you ;) Any chance you could submit a PR to core with the issues preventing this from working?
