We would like to implement external elements in which mutations and dynamic could base upon. That is:
Suppose that a network models genetic regulation. We would like to be able to investigate the change in dynamics in which the network undergoes due to a change in the externals it is exposed. Suppose that one node is a canalizing node of an external signal, sugar concentration. The change in dynamics resulting in a change of this external state differs in a change in dynamics resulting in a change of an initial condition of one node. The former could emphasize a "machinery" whereas the latter is a behavioral disadvantage.
