Roland UA-1G — "Can not found a device" Error #291
Comments
It seems you're trying to use both WASAPI and ASIO output, could it be you're trying to use both at the same time and the driver doesn't allow? Ideally you'd be using ASIO for both outputs and inputs. |
I was playing around with every combination I could think of, so that wasn't intended, just my last attempt. I actually just got it working with some community help! My interface has an "Advanced Driver" switch, that I had read needed to be OFF for the 48kHz to work - this was NOT true, and that Advanced Driver was required for ASIO. I used a program (ASIO Driver Tester) to get the data I needed (ASIO wasn't working on the device), and flipping that switch made it all work. I had turned it off on purpose to get 48kHz audio to work, but changed too many variables at once to know for sure if that Advanced Driver was an issue or not. Got it working now, so we can add the Roland UA-1G to the list of working devices! Thanks a ton for this software, absolutely crucial to playing the game on a modern rig, much appreciated! |
Thanks for the report, I've added it to the list. |
My Roland / Cakewalk UA-1G is showing up in the mod tools as "UA-1G", and the device is working as my output right now (just for testing, I had no 48kHz speaker options until my speakers JUST arrived today, but not hooked up yet). In game, I'm told the Real Tone Cable is not plugged in repeatedly. My audio interface is able to record in Audacity just fine.
Oddly, I have no divers I can install manually for this, the official site says they'll be downloaded automatically when plugged in, and it sets up the device when plugged into a new port as expected. The device also has a physical "Advanced Driver" switch on it, which I have recently put to off, as that seemed to be required to get 48kHz audio (the back had 5 physical switches with a diagram explaining them), and something I came across online said Advanced Driver had to be off for those settings to matter, but I'm unsure. That said, it does now show up as 48kHz, my output works, etc.
Not sure what to try at this point, but I'm open to try! Will keep experimenting while I await any suggestions you may have, will report back if I learn anything substantial.
