I use this RPM.

This does indeed look like a bug. I am merging the pull request but I plan to change this to do this decision dynamically at runtime as we build one binary which is meant to run on all 5.5.x versions. Thus if our plugin is running in 5.5.19 or lower we will want to use the free and in 5.5.20 and higher we will not use it.
