Issue

The spec only says that

The account_data may be either global or scoped to a particular rooms.

and mentions that per-room data will appear in the account_data section of a room in /sync.

We do not specify:

  • if you should be able to store account data for rooms that you aren't joined to
  • what happens to your per-room account data after you leave, are kicked or banned from a room. Is it removed? Does it persist indefinitely?
