User onboarding is the process of improving a person's success with a product or service. The goal of this issue is to discuss and list all the possible ways that we could improve User Onboarding in Piwik and Piwik Cloud.

Matt, could you clarify where you're focused - new users/ existing users/ paid users/ free users

Hi @JohnSherer we're slightly focused on the Piwik Cloud use case, however we want to care about all use cases: new/existing and paid/free. Please suggest your ideas 👍

first step is being worked on as we speak! Show the JS tracking code instead of the dashboard while no visit is tracked #7365

Highly important for a great user onboarding: Interactive tour of the Piwik UI when a user first connects or a new feature was added to Piwik #3185

we created the new Github label c: Onboarding for "Onboarding Component". See all issues: c: Onboarding For issues that make the experience of getting Matomo up and running better.

Be great to keep creating new ones with the good ideas to better onboard users in Matomo 👍
