A user has reported that the term "Alias" in Settings > Users, may be confusing, or unclear.

Quick Feedback: The column "Alias" is a misnomer and should be changed to "Description" oder something else.

Could we maybe rename this term in the UI to Description or something else... what do you think?

Usually it's a pair from Login and Username(Last name etc...).
In Settings > Users we have User, Alias, Username

For me "Description" would be even more confusing.

I would simply remove it. I'm not sure what alias is used / usable for as we already have the username. Login is also possible via email I think so the username already serves as an alias.

Since no one seems to be using this, shall we just remove alias "feature" completely from Matomo? Or at least for now remove it from the UI under "Personal settings" and create a ticket to remove it from API/DB in Matomo 4?
